18th - 24th June 2017.
Tour Status:  ***FULLY BOOKED***

Our 2017 tour to the Scottish Highlands follows the renowned NC500 scenic coastal route which starts and finishes at Inverness. This six night tour will start and finish in Perthshire which will allow our customers from Ireland and most of the UK to travel to Scotland in one day before we head for the Highlands. We will also take in Loch Ness and the three highest roads in Scotland on this tour as well as visiting John o' Groats, the road to Applecross and many other 'Must See" places in the far north of Scotland.

We will meet during the afternoon or evening of Sunday 18th June 2017 at our first night's hotel which is approximately 30 miles north of Perth in Scotland. The tour will finish at the same hotel after breakfast on Saturday 24th June 2017. This allows 5 full days to complete the NC500 as well as see a few other places along the way.

Northern Highlands

On Monday we travel through the Grampian Mountains to Inverness and the official start of the NC500, we'll take in Loch Ness on the way. From inverness we travel through Ross & Cromarty with the fertile farmland of the east gradually giving way to moor and mountain as we reach the west coast and our next hotel.

On Tuesday our route will take us over the famous Pass of the Cattle to the remote village of Applecross. On a clear day the views from the top of the pass across to Skye are stunning. From Applecross we travel to the pretty fishing and ferry port of Ullapool nestling on the shores of Loch Broom. Our hotel for tonight is here and there will be time to explore Ullapool and spend an evening in the town.

On Wednesday we continue north from Ullapool, heading into remote and wild Sutherland, the least populated part of mainland Britain. We will ride through spectacular mountain and coastal scenery to Lochinver then on past Scourie to Durness and the north coast of Scotland with it's craggy headlands and beautiful white beaches. We'll have a look into the Smoo Cave before continuing to our hotel for the night. This will be Midsummer's Day and as we will be so far north it won't really get dark, the perfest place to look out over the North Atlantic Ocean and see the glimmer that passes for night time in the far north of Scotland.

The coast near Durness

On Thursday we continue to ride east to the county of Caithness and the most northerly point of the British mainland at Dunnet Head before arriving at John O' Groats. We'll stop here for lunch and maybe the opportunity to get a photo of you and our bike beside the famous signpost. The afternoon will have us turning south and back into Sutherland and our next hotel, a former coaching Inn.

Friday is the last full day of the tour. We continue south to Inverness to complete our circuit of the NC500. From Inverness we will take you away from the busy trunk road to the south, instead riding along some great biking roads across Dava Moor to Grantown on Spey. During the afternoon we will ride through the Cairngorm Mountains, along the two highest roads in Scotland, towards our last nights hotel which is about 30 miles north of Perth.

This tour starts and finishes in Scotland at the same hotel which is located approximately 30 miles north of Perth and close to the A9 trunk road. The A9 allows easy access to Glasgow and Edinburgh and the GB motorway network. The ferry ports for Northern Ireland are 3 to 4 hours ride away and the English Midlands are easily within a days ride.

We will meet during the afternoon or evening, (depending on your journey time to the hotel), of Sunday 18th June 2017. The tour will finish after breakfast on Saturday 24th June 2017.

The cost of the tour includes six nights hotel accommodation with full Scottish breakfast, safe parking at the hotels for the bikes, daily itinerary and the services of a tour manager.
