This final tour of the year will visit the far north of Scotland over a long weekend and will include some of the highest roads in the UK, John o' Groats, Dunnet Head, and parts of the Northern Highlands that the NC500 scenic route doesn't include. All of the roads we will be using are fantastic biking roads and the tourist traffic will be minimal so plenty of opportunity to enjoy them to their full potential. Autumn colours in Scotland are beautiful with the leaves on the trees turning to red and brown.
This tour will start and finish in Perthshire which
will allow our customers from Ireland and most of the UK to travel to
Scotland in one day before we head for the Northern Highlands.
We will meet during the afternoon or evening of Thursday 27th September 2018 at our first night's hotel which is
approximately 30 miles north of the city of Perth in Scotland. The tour
will finish at the same hotel after breakfast on Monday 1st October
2018. This allows 3 full days exploring the Northern Highlands. You will be making your own way home on the Monday.
We head north on the Friday morning using the best biking roads through the Cairngorm Mountains to reach Inverness and the far north of Scotland. After lunch we'll take the scenic route rather than the trunk roads to our hotel for the next two nights in one of the picturesque villages of East Sutherland.
Saturday will have us travelling inland to the heart of Sutherland and the most remote part of the Scottish mainland where sheep and deer far outnumber the human population. Once we reach the north coast we head for the most northerly point of the UK mainland at Dunnet Head then onwards to John o' Groats, returning to our hotel in time for the evening meal.
On Sunday we return to Perthshire but not before visiting the lovely Black Isle, (which isn't really an island), and the Cromarty and Inverness Firths. We will arrive at our last hotel late afternoon on Sunday and the tour officially finishes on the Monday morning after breakfast.
Ross & Cromarty.
